The world is going through major change on many levels: environmentally, financially, relationally, communally, and spiritually. In a culture where there is a breakdown of community and relationships, oppression, poverty, environmental destruction, continued resorting to violence in order to solve problems, corporate greed, and a prevailing victim/victor mentality, our times call for a new way of being on the planet. As many of the current structures collapse and the old ways become outdated, it is time for a new kind of leadership to help usher in a new consciousness rooted in social and environmental justice, personal and collective health and well-being, unity and equality, restoration of community and authentic relating, honesty, transparency, and embodied love.

During these significant times, this kind of leadership calls for qualities such as:

• Being in service to one another and the planet

• Living in integrity with one's deepest beliefs and values

• Offering and guiding others in new behaviors and ways of being and relating

• Tapping into and articulating a vision of what's possible

• Considering what is in the highest good of all concerned and being willing to listen for and enact what that highest good is

• Having the courage to stay in relationship, and return to a space of love and compassion for one another even (and especially) during conflict and difficult circumstances

• Taking personal responsibility and accountability through fearless self-reflection and authentic revealing and relating.

Through practicing these principles, a new world becomes possible: A world where spiritual principles and practices are at the heart of our business, relationships, and communities. A world where we move beyond the separation, isolation, and individualism and come together in community to see, support, co-create, and bless one another. A world where we endure during the hardships and challenges, striving to seek, as poet Michael Meade says, "the light inside the dark times." A world where we are supported and encouraged in discovering our gifts and living our soul's purpose, being and becoming who we truly are.
